I like to change my decorations with the seasons. This gets challenging at Christmas time. The majority of my decorations that time of year are snowmen and snowflakes. This way I can leave most of them up until spring.

I have a few decorations that I save, silk flowers and nick nacks etc. I pick up a seasonal vinyl table cloth at the dollar store. For spring I focus on flowers and herbs, for summer I use Sunflowers, for fall I build on my sunflowers, adding leaves, or use fruit (depending on table cloths available) and for winter use blues and whites, which match my Christmas theme. I try to stay away from red and green decorations, so that I don't have to remove them with my tree and it's decorations. This way I only have to "decorate" my house 4 times a year. All I have to do is box up the old, set out the new, it usually only takes about an hour. Each year I will pick up just a few new seasonal decorations to add to or replace. Just a little here and there, using scented candles for more effect than decorations. This also cuts down on too much in storage and too much, to pull out, which if I have more than one box to pull out for anything except Christmas, I just won't do it, and I won't buy more when I am not using what I already have.
