Some like to go away for a weekend. Others like to plan long vacations. Still other families consider something in-between as the best type of holiday. There are those who travel by car. Then there are those who prefer flying. If neither of those suits your family, perhaps you travel by train or on a ship? Whatever type of holiday you enjoy, wherever your destination and however you plan to get there you can
do it for less!
This week our family is away for 3 days. We drove to Orlando, FL. The total cost (minus gas) will be $108. That is food and lodging for 3 nights for 5 peeps. I will figure out the calculations for gas when we return, since gas is so varied in price on our trip. Not to mention, I could have easily shaved off another $6-9 at the grocery.
We are staying in our RV, which is usually very inexpensive (between $12-24/night). However this is Orlando folks! Nothing here is cheap. I can actually name several regular grocery items that are up to $1.50 MORE here than at our same grocer back home. The same is true for camping in Orlando. Even the tents sites are more than we pay at another campground.
Not only that, but we travel frequently for very low cost. Want to know how we do it? Keep checking back as I give me very best pointers! Even if you have already had your vacation this year, you may be planning some trips for the holidays. These tips will keep your money where it belongsā¦in your pocket!
