Every woman I have every spoken with about home management has a common complaint: storage. How can you put everything in its place when everything doesn’t have a place? Well down here in Florida, home builders decided to give us the double whammy. We don’t have basements (which are understandable since they would only be indoor swimming pools anyway.) and we don’t have attics. Most Florida homes don’t even have a coat closet. This makes storage even more challenging.
One way to accomplish storage and decorate a room is to put up a shelf boarder along the upper portion
of the wall. Instead of using the shelf to hold all kinds of knick knacks, use interesting baskets & boxes. You can even label these with tags. It is the perfect place to store items that are not used regularly. The containers make beautiful, interesting, and low maintenance décor for the room. This is especially stunning when the shelf wraps around the entire room and has artificial plants interspersed.
Wall mounted shelves are an excellent decorating idea that can really lend itself to customization. Always be certain to place one or two items of interest every 1.5 feet or so and your shelves will transform the entire fell of a room;
Remember storage should be an adventure not a drudgery.
