Every year around this time, homeschooling moms begin drag from within. Life has happened, many times, and we are ever getting further from the schedules we set in place at the beginning of the year. We can feel so far behind. We have a tendency to compare ourselves to others around us. A fear of educational inadequacy can take hold of our hearts and put undue stress upon us. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
This article on the Heart of the Matter blog may help you regain the encouragement & inspiration you need to help build, maintain, & revamp your schedule when needed. One other topic not covered in this article is dealing with developing your school year. You can use the basic ideas in the article to help you
put together a school year that works for you & your family. Think about events that are coming up for the year and the weather throughout the seasons and build your school year around that. For example, we live in SW Florida. Typically we take off 1.5-2 months in the winter because he weather is so beautiful we don’t want to be indoors. Yet in the summer months it is so humid and the sun can burn so quickly we tend to stay indoors a bit more. Although our homeschool journey began with the traditional school calendar we now school all year round. We make adjustments as needed for the life of our family. By doing this with the tips in the article, you will find that when your motivation begins to dip, you can take a break, rejuvenate, and get back on the road without the feelings of guilt!
These are my thoughts.
